The Corvettes assembled here represent some of the more very special and legitimate Corvettes that have ever been collected by anyone and cars that had production limited to single, double, and triple digit numbers. The Rarest of the Rare! These Corvettes have been loved and were purchased not so much for profit but due to the passion and knowledge that it takes to discern what differentiates true collector cars from the average run of the mill.

The following Corvettes offered here are an opportunity for the astute and intellectual Corvette collector and offer value and hope for long term status for the new owner who wishes to have a positive relationship with their car or collection; an opportunity to buy rare cars today that may not ever present themselves to the market again, at least not in the short term or at today's prices.

This War Chest.. is the personal reserve Corvette collection held by Terry and Fred Michaelis. This collection reflects 37 years of Corvette insight and opinion with only a select few considered for inclusion here. This listing opens the vault door on a few very special cars held and available for sale with viewing upon request. Have a specific question or request? email terry@proteamcorvette.com

1037K..1962 California Corvette Convertible, two tops, 327-360 hp, (fuel injected), 4 speed, numbers matching original motor, transmission and rear. Roman Red paint with Black interior and Black soft top. Original and unrestored survivor in very nice condition. A previous owner, a Bloomington Gold judge, used this unique time machine as a guide to evaluate other 1962 fuelies as to their correctness. These original unmolested cars are among the rarest of rare and are rising to the top of the Corvette food chain as unrestored cars are used as guideposts for restorers, shining a light on the way vehicles were originally built. The solid feel of an excellent unrestored car cannot be overstated! Optioned with auxiliary hardtop, T-10 transmission, 4.11 posi, Wonderbar radio, fuel injection, off road exhaust, RPO-242 PCV (positive crankage ventilation), sunvisors, windshield washers, courtesy light, heater, hubcaps, and white stripe tires. It's much easier to describe what is not original on this car; ie: left front shock absorber, voltage regulator, gas cap, horns, water pump, and maybe the soft top although it is dated for this car but appears too nice for a 59 year old car. Click Here to see our list of original components that are still present today. Documented with a letter of authenticity from Joe S Calcagno Jr. a master judge and past owner. Also has a positive inspection report (letter) from Al Grenning pertaining to the engine pad surface and VIN/engine codes. From the Reggie Jackson (Mr. October) collection. Production date of April 19th, 1962 and delivered new by Citizens Chevrolet in Eagle Rock, CA (dealer code 091 in zone 20) per the official NCRS/GM shipping data records (SDR). This Corvette has yet to be shown, creating an exciting opportunity for the next owner to exhibit the car and compete for trophies, awards, and recognition! Looks, runs, and drives very nice. Benchmark is, by definition, the most important distinction in the entire Corvette judging regime, one awarded to fewer than 228 Corvettes (1953-1972) as of this writing—including this jewel of which only 14 of them were 1963!! The expenses involved in obtaining these awards could surely exceed $20,000.00. One of 199 with the Z06 special performance equipment and this one is radio delete. This is an original motor car per recent affirmation by CCAS, LLC/Al Grenning as to the legitimacy and originality of the cylinder case (engine block), engine stamp pad, and engine stampings. Also regional NCRS Top Flight award. This car is one of the elite few recipients of America’s most prestigious Corvette awards, the happy result of a lifetime of diligent care and discerning use. Unrestored and original!! It was judged worthy of Bloomington Gold Certification, Survivor and Benchmark honors, the latter being the most important of all to the demanding collector. Benchmark Certification recognizes each recipient as not only unrestored—a quality recognized in Survivor judging—but also that it remains in showroom condition, exactly as it was upon delivery from the factory with the exception of aging. These qualities make it the perfect source of reference for a top-quality restoration of a like car, ergo the term “Benchmark.” Benchmark Certification is only awarded to cars that have achieved both Gold and Survivor on the same weekend, qualify in all four Survivor categories. Benchmark is, by definition, the most important distinction in the entire Corvette judging regime. This is the 72nd Corvette produced in Bowling Green Corvette plant and 1 of approximately 25 produced in this color combination. Optioned with factory air, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power antenna, power door locks, cruise control, leather, tilt-n-telescopic, posi, heavy duty battery, SS brakes, AM/FM radio with stereo cassette, rear window defog, audio alarm, sport power mirrors, tinted glass, aluminum wheels and raised white lettered radials. Most all factory correct type components including the spare, jack, jack tools, floor mats, T-Top bags, seat belts, washer system, smog system, shifter, shielding, air cleaner, alternator, distributor, spark plug shields, hoses, hose clamps, window glass, valve covers, radiator, gas door assembly, warranty booklets, owners manual, sales brochure, and power beam headlights. Original unrestored unmolested low-mile time-capsule in amazing excellent condition. Especially considering that it's 41 years old.
