1031Q..1966 Corvette Convertible, two tops, 327-300 hp, 4 speed, numbers matching original motor, transmission and rear end, also has factory original body/trim tag, CCAS/Grenning Engine Stamp Affirmation, 71,592 actual miles. Trophy Blue paint with Dark Blue interior and White soft top. Bloomington Gold Benchmark, Bloomington Gold certified, Bloomington Gold Survivor all in 2010. Also NCRS Regional Top Flight in 2011 and NCRS 3-Star Bowtie Award of Preservation in 2013 at the NCRS National Convention. The expenses involved in obtaining these awards could surely exceed $20,000.00. These original unmolested cars are among the rarest of rare and are rising to the top of the Corvette food chain as unrestored cars are used as guideposts for restorers, shining a light on the way vehicles were originally built and represent the standards which historians, judges, and future restorers can use to determine factory authenticity. The solid feel of an excellent unrestored car cannot be overstated! This car is one of the elite few recipients of America’s most prestigious Corvette awards, the happy result of a lifetime of diligent care and discerning use. Unrestored and original!! It was judged worthy of Bloomington Gold Certification, Survivor and Benchmark honors, the latter being the most important of all to the demanding collector. Benchmark Certification recognizes each recipient as not only unrestored—a quality recognized in Survivor judging—but also that it remains in showroom condition, exactly as it was upon delivery from the factory with the exception of aging. These qualities make it the perfect source of reference for a top-quality restoration of a like car, ergo the term “Benchmark.” Benchmark Certification is only awarded to cars that have achieved both Gold and Survivor on the same weekend, qualify in all four Survivor categories. Benchmark is, by definition, the most important distinction in the entire Corvette judging regime, one awarded to fewer than approximately 230 Corvettes 1953 to 1972 and only 19 were 1966 as of this writing—including this jewel. Optioned with power brakes, power antenna, auxiliary hardtop, M-20, 3.36 posi, SS brakes, AM/FM radio, back-up lights, off road exhaust, hubcaps, and 7.75x15" gold stripe tires. Most all factory correct type components including the spare, jack, jack tools, floor mats, seat belts, washer system, shifter, shielding, air cleaner, alternator, distributor, spark plug shields, hoses, hose clamps, hardtop wrench, window glass, valve covers, starter, carb, exhaust heat shields, expansion tank, radiator, gas door assembly, bowtie mirror, glove box door, warranty book, owners manual, sales brochure, and T-3 headlights. Documented with the window sticker, warranty book/P.O.P., dealer order copy, 1966 title, owner history, owners manual packet, show awards and judging sheets all in a 3-ring binder. Also has an affirmation by CCAS/Grenning as to the legitimacy and originality of the engine block, stamp pad, and the engine stamp. Late production car and one of the last produced in 1966. Production date of July 22nd, 1966 and delivered new by Silver Motors in Hubbard, OH (dealer code 612 in zone 28) per the official NCRS/GM shipping data records (SDR). Looks, runs, and drives excellent. CC:1/+2 $119,000.00
