Invited to the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show on November 19-20th, 2011 for their special 50th anniversary invitational display. | 1016E..1962 Corvette Retro-Mod Custom Convertible featuring original body and VIN mounted on a SRIII tube chassis with a new LS3 hot cam 480 hp engine, Tremec 5 speed transmission, and Dana aluminum 3.52 ratio rear. Also has ceramic coated headers with custom exhaust and polished tips. Custom air intake with K&N filter. C4 suspension with coilover shocks, power rack and pinion steering, C4 brake calipers with 13" drilled and slotted brake rotors. Billet specialties 17" polished aluminum wheels and 245/45 BF Goodrich G-force tires. Other features include air conditioning, chrome Ididit steering column with 14" steering wheel. Aluminum radiator, electric cooling fan, serpentine belt and stock looking electronic gauges. Red exterior and is completely stock with 1960 chrome tooth grille. All chrome and emblems are new. | 1035D..1962 Corvette ex-Fuelie Race Car with RPO-687/Z06 heavy duty brakes, suspension, fast steering adapter, 3.70 posi, wide wheels and double front sway bars (part of Sebring Race Package). Also has pro-mounted Maroon roll bar with drill test hole. Honduras Maroon paint with Fawn interior with original seats, dash pad, gauges and steering wheel (may have had white paint at one time). Had a full tonneau cover and a hardtop earlier in its life. VIN #20867S101361 has been owned by Fred Polisky of Edwardsville, PA since 1986 and prior to that Robert Hagen of Hughestown or Kingston, PA. Ed Schwartz (Dalton, PA) claims to be the first owner with Jack Phillips (Dalton, PA) as second and Danny Buranich (Factoryville, PA) as third owner. Rumored to have been raced in Pennsylvania at the "Giants of Despair Hills Climb". Raced by Ed Schwartz (Dalton, PA) in SCCA modified class at Lime Rock, Marlboro, Watkins Glen, VIR, and Daytona with a group of drivers who raced together, i.e.: Schwartz, Ben Moore, Ted Williams, and Roger Penske in 1962. May have been raced at SCCA National Virginia (VIR) on April 29th, 1962 with Ben Moore as driver with race number 18. | 1068A..1962 Corvette Convertible GM Styling Show Car, 327-300 hp, 4 speed, numbers match. Special Firemist Anniversary Gold paint with custom Tan leather interior and a Beige (Tan) soft top all new in 2010. A forensic inspection prior to recent new paint, interior, and top revealed old Gold Firemist paint and evidence of a Tan or Gold interior, as we believe this car was prepared for the Chicago Auto Show or a styling exercise to produce a 50th Anniversary Chevrolet for Chevrolet's 50th Anniversary in 1962. GM Styling Shop Order S.O.10224 completed January 16th, 1962. Many of the car's components have the shop order #10224 on them and the grill is gold plated. The car also has the special styling shop order tag mounted on the firewall. Optioned with leather, 3.36 posi, Wonderbar radio, sunvisors, windshield washers, courtesy light, heater, hubcaps, and white stripe tires.
