1040G..1967 Corvette Convertible, 427-435 hp, 4 speed, numbers matching, also has factory original body/trim tag. Rally Red paint with Red interior and White soft top. Very rare and original color combination and one of less than 50 produced with the 435 hp engine. Seven time NCRS Top Flight at National, Regional, and Chapter shows with scores as high as 98.4%. Simply known as "Howard Hoover's Baby" and recently purchased from Howard's estate. During Howard's 25-year ownership, care, and love, this Corvette also received many other prestigious awards including Best of Show from venues such as: Eyes on Design, Willisted Concours (Canada), Corvette Encounters (Les Stanford), Corvettes at Canterbury Village, Corvettes America Tech Center show, Corvettes at the Summit, and Gold Spinner award at the Chicago Vette Fest just to name a few. This Corvette has been editorialized and featured in Playboy magazine, Corvette Fever, and was the billboard car for the Woodward Dream Cruise in 2003 "When Cool was measured in cubic inches " with the GM logo. That billboard image was later used for posters and t-shirts that were sold around the globe. Howard chose to drive this car to all shows (except Chicago in 1993) and found it a lot of fun but also a lot of work to maintain his baby in factory new condition, which it is today. Howard was the past chairman of the Michigan Great Lakes NCRS chapter and a Senior Master Judge for NCRS. Howard Hoover, NCRS member 17617 attained the highest level recognition as a NCRS judge... in excess of 400 judging points... The "400" club. Howard was also a judge for Bloomington Gold. A true hardcore car guy and a friend of the Corvette community.
