1057E..1970 Corvette T-Top, ZR1 with M-22 heavy duty 4 speed, numbers matching, and one of 25 produced! Monza Red paint with Saddle Tan interior in excellent condition. NCRS Top Flight in 2014. This super rare street legal racer is the equivalent of the famed L88 but has a 370 hp small block motor, special radiator, heavy duty brakes, suspension, transmission, and no radio, no power steering, no air conditioning, and no creature comforts. Purpose built all the way and a testament to the man behind the ZR1 and ZR2 projects, Zora Duntov. Optioned with shoulder harness, transistorized ignition, M-22 transmission, 4.56 posi, power J-56 heavy duty brakes, F-41 special heavy duty suspension, tinted glass, rallys, and Firestone raised white lettered tires. Most all factory correct type components. Documented with the NCRS certificate/judging sheets and tank sticker which has been validated by the NCRS/GM document validation services. Production date of May 28th, 1970 and delivered new by Ed Rinke Chevrolet of Centerline, MI (dealer code 384 in zone 44) per the official NCRS/GM Shipping Data Records (SDR). It also has copies of titles back to 1972 and is listed in the ZR1 survey/registry. It is quite fitting to know that this car has resided in the Mark Martin's Klassix Auto Museum in Daytona Beach, Florida for many years and recently in the Joe Amato Collectible Car Collection until purchased by ProTeam in 2013. This car spent its early life (until at least 1978) in the Detroit area where we hope it terrorized the strip and street. It is the only known Monza Red ZR1 T-Top with Saddle Tan interior. The ZR1 was produced over a 3-year period, 1970 (25), 1971 (8), 1972 (20), for a grand total of fifty-three (53) units and could almost run with the L88 big boys due to the fact that a small block weighs so much less. The ZR1's were known as Zora Racer's 1, that's right, they were created, named, and championed after the innovative Zora Duntov, Corvette's lead engineer and godfather of the Corvette. The rest is history!!! Looks, runs, and drives excellent. CC:+2 $180,000.00 SOLD
