1005R..1966 Corvette Sting Ray Coupe, 427-390 hp, factory air, 4 speed, numbers matching original motor, transmission and rear end, also has factory original body/trim tag, 42,547 actual miles. Nassau Blue lacquer paint with Bright Blue interior. Original, unmolested, unrestored car in show condition. Bloomington Gold Benchmark certified which includes Survivor and Gold awards. Also regional and national NCRS Top Flight and invited to the Bloomington Special Collection in 2016. These original unmolested cars are among the rarest of rare and are rising to the top of the Corvette food chain as unrestored cars are used as guideposts for restorers, shining a light on the way vehicles were originally built and represent the standards which historians, judges, and future restorers can use to determine factory authenticity. The solid feel of an excellent unrestored car cannot be overstated! Previously owned by Guy Mabee, Bruce Knierim, Ray Norvell and inspected by Mark Donnally Consulting. Also has an affirmation by CCAS/Grenning as to the legitimacy and originality of the engine block, stamp pad, and the engine stamp. Optioned with factory air, born with factory side exhaust, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power antenna, teakwood wheel, telescopic, headrest seats, M-20, posi, AM/FM radio, comfort/convenience group, back-up lights, day/night mirror, hazard warning flasher, tinted glass, Kelsey K.O. aluminum wheels, and 7.75x15" gold stripe tires. Most all factory correct type components including the spare, jack, jack tools, K.O. wheel hammer, clear floor mats, seat belts, washer system, shifter, shielding, braided wires, air cleaner, alternator, distributor, hoses, hose clamps, window glass, valve covers, starter, carb, intake, upper ball joints, voltage regulator, radiator, five Kelsey K.O. aluminum wheels, gas door assembly, bowtie mirror, glove box door, warranty book, owners manual, sales brochure, and T-3 headlights. Documented with the Corvette order showing 15 options, dealer invoice, warranty book/P.O.P., CCAS/Grenning Engine Stamp Affirmation, Bloomington Gold collection booklet, NCRS Confirmation of Awards, judging certificates and judging sheets, owners manual packet, owner history, old title and registration copies, historic photos, maintenance receipts and four 3-ring binders. This nine owner car is one of the elite few recipients of America’s most prestigious Corvette awards, the happy result of a lifetime of diligent care and discerning use. Unrestored and original!! It was judged worthy of Bloomington Gold Certification, Survivor and Benchmark honors, the latter being the most important of all to the demanding collector. Benchmark Certification recognizes each recipient as not only unrestored—a quality recognized in Survivor judging—but also that it remains in showroom condition, exactly as it was upon delivery from the factory with the exception of aging. These qualities make it the perfect source of reference for a top-quality restoration of a like car, ergo the term “Benchmark.” Benchmark Certification is only awarded to cars that have achieved both Gold and Survivor on the same weekend, qualify in all four Survivor categories. Benchmark is, by definition, the most important distinction in the entire Corvette judging regime, one awarded to fewer than 228 Corvettes 1953 to 1972 and only 20 were 1966 Corvettes as of this writing—including this jewel. Production date of February 14th, 1966 and delivered new by O'Niell's Chevrolet-Buick in Avon, CT (dealer code 363 in zone 2) per the official NCR/GM Shipping Data Records (SDR). Looks, runs, and drives excellent. CC:1 $199,000.00 SOLD
